The firmware in one paragraph

Stock firmware runs every device the same way; VNISH tunes each one individually. Autotune finds the efficient point of every hash board, per-chip control keeps weak chips from dragging the device down, watt trimming cuts power draw at the wall, and overheat protection reacts before hardware does. The result is measured in joules per terahash: the same device does more work per watt, or the same work for fewer watts. Every change is reversible: a device returns to stock firmware in minutes.

Free of charge, and how the devfee works

Every build is free of charge to download, install and test. VNISH earns on a small development share of active hashrate, always visible in the dashboard: nothing is hidden in the interface and nothing needs to be believed on faith. When a device returns to stock firmware, the share simply stops: no penalties, no traces. The extra income from tuning is many times larger than the share.

Warranty

As a rule the warranty is preserved, since installation leaves no traces and the device can always be returned to stock. To be safe, check the current terms of Bitmain and of your direct seller before installing.

Verified means verifiable

The word "verified" on this network means checkable, not merely promised. Every build is published with its SHA-256 checksum in the open firmware catalog. Whoever you are and wherever a file came from, you can compute its checksum and compare it with the published one: a match confirms the file is byte-for-byte the published build. Who is behind it

The developer team has stayed out of the public eye since the Antminer S9 era, which is not unusual in this industry. What is public is the work: ten years of releases, 47 supported models, and independent industry research by the Cambridge Centre for Alternative Finance that puts VNISH on 26.4% of industrial bitcoin mining hashrate, the largest share among aftermarket firmware. Integrity here does not depend on trusting a name: it is checked with a checksum. A matching checksum proves the bytes are the published build, which is an integrity check rather than a proof of authorship on its own.
